Method 1: Deregister Echo Dot
If you are continuously facing issues with your Echo Dot then the first thing that you are required to perform is to deregister your device from the Alexa account. Deregistration your Echo Dot removes the device from the Amazon account and you have to register the Echo Dot to a new Amazon account. Follow the below steps to do so:
Step 1: Open the Alexa app from your device whatever you are using.
Step 2: Tap on the settings.
Step 3: After that, click on the Device Settings.
Step 4: Now, you have to tap on the appropriate Echo dot that you want to deregister.
Step 5: At last, tap on deregister. 

Method 2: Reset the Echo Dot

Follow the below steps to reset the Echo dot to the factory default settings:
For 1st Generation Amazon Echo Devices:
Step 1: The first step is to search for the reset button on your Echo device. 
Step 2: Once you find the reset button, use a paper clip or pin to press and hold the button until the power LED light turns to orange. 
Step 3: After some time, the LED light turns blue.
Step 4: Now, wait for some time until the LED ring light turns off and then blinks to orange.
Step 5: Finally, your Amazon Echo device is reset to the factory defaults. 

For 2nd Generation Amazon Echo Devices:

Step 1: Initially, you need to press and hold the Microphone off and the volume down button simultaneously until the LED ring light turns to orange. 
Step 2: After some time, the light ring will turn from orange to blue.
Step 3: Now, wait for some time until the ring light turns off and then the orange light blinks again.
Step 4: Finally, your Amazon Echo dot device is reset to the factory default settings. 

Method 3: Reset Echo Dot Using Alexa App

No matter which Echo device you are using. You can easily reset your Echo dot by using the Alexa app:
Step 1: Run the Alexa app. If you do not have Echo dot then you can find the app in the App Store or the Google Play Store.
Step 2: Click on the Devices icon. You will find this option in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
Step 3: Next, select the Echo and Alexa.
Step 4: Click on the device which you want to reset.
Step 5: At last, you need to scroll down and hit the deregister button.
